In a brilliant finale in front of a very supportive crowd the French climber Guillaume Glairon Mondet took his first ever gold medal and Anna Stohr took her first victory of the season. Slovenia hosted its first ever IFSC Boulder World Cup in Log-Dragomer which was a great success, especially for the French Team who had 3 male finalists including, of course, the eventual winner. The French Guillaume Glairon Mondet flashed 3 out of the 4 boulder to beat the Russian Dimitry Sharafutdinov, (2nd place), with Kilian Fischhuber (AUT), the reigning World Champion, taking bronze. As for women, the Austrian Anna Stöhr easily dispatched the last boulder to overtake Akiyo Noguchi (JPN) and Alex Puccio (USA), respectively silver and bronze medals, to pull out a good lead in the overall rankings this season. The Boulder circuit moves on to Vienna on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th May. |
